Landscape renovation and design in St. Louis
A renovation starts with what is already on the property: the trees worth keeping, the beds that have filled in with weeds, the shade that changed after a neighbor's addition, and the way water sits after a hard rain.
Environmental Landscaping has designed and installed landscapes for St. Louis homes and commercial properties since 1970. Trees, shrubs, perennials, and ground covers on the plan are certified nursery stock selected for this climate.
What a renovation can include
Most projects combine bed layout, plant installation, mulch, and edging. When the yard needs it, we add a walkway or patio, a small retaining wall, drainage work, or landscape lighting. Lawn areas that have thinned out can be reseeded or sodded as part of the same job.
Homeowners who want to do some of the work themselves can book a consultation first. We will walk the property, talk through plant choices and spacing, and leave you with a plan you can phase.
Plants selected for this climate
St. Louis sits in a hot, humid summer and a winter that still freezes. Clay soil is common, especially in west and south county. We use certified nursery stock, including deciduous trees, evergreens, flowering shrubs, perennials, and ground covers, and we match them to sun, drainage, and the room the plant will need in ten years.
Browse the nursery pages for the varieties we install most often, then call if you want something specific sourced.

Questions we hear often
Do you design landscapes, or only install them?
Both. Renovation work includes the layout and the installation. If you already have a plan, we can price the installation on its own.
Can I buy plants without a full installation?
Yes. We sell certified nursery stock and we install it. A consultation is the right first step if you are deciding between the two.
