Evergreen shrubs for St. Louis foundations and hedges
Evergreen shrubs hold a foundation planting together in winter, when the perennials are gone and the deciduous shrubs are sticks. Boxwood, yew, and juniper are the workhorses. Holly and nandina add fruit or winter color if the site suits them.
We prune these as part of seasonal cleanup so a hedge stays a hedge. Tell us if you want a formal line or a looser screen.
