Perennials for St. Louis gardens

Perennials come back from the crown each year. They are how a bed changes from spring to fall without replanting annuals every May. Shade beds in this area lean on hosta and astilbe. Sunnier beds can take grasses and long-blooming shrubs used as accents.

A few plants on this list are also shown with shrubs or grasses because homeowners ask for them in more than one kind of bed. We will place them where the light is actually right.
